Boys' Brigade at Second Comber is recommencing face-to-face on Tuesday 13 September 2023. We are very excited to welcome all the boys back in person and following our usual routines. Please take some time to read through the information below...
All boys must be registered BEFORE arriving down to BB on the first night using our online secure church multi-purpose consent form. Click on the link below to access the form. This same form can be used to register for all youth organisations young people want to attend.
How is BB going to work this year?
With no COVID restrictions, we can make a full return to our usual weekly activities, with all boys attending every week. COVID has not gone away through, so we will continue to apply some mitigations:
Sections will meet every week as follows:
Junior Anchors (Nursery-P1) 6:30 - 7:30pm
Meeting in the Minor Hall, with entry and exit via the top coffee bar door.
Senior Anchors (P2-P4) 6:30 - 7:30pm
Meeting in the Main Hall, with entry and exit via the bottom carpark door.
Juniors (P5-P7) 6:30 - 8:00pm
Meeting upstairs in the Smyth Hall, with entry and exit via the top coffee bar door.
Juniors should arrive in full uniform but they may wish to bring a pair of trainers for games.
Company (Y8-Y10) 7:40 - 9:15pm
Seniors (Y11-Y14) 7:40 - 10:00pm
Meeting initially in the Minor Hall, with entry and exit via the top coffee bar door.
We will continue to have our tuck shop each night if boys wish to bring a little change.
Company and Senior boys need to arrive in full uniform and bring a PE kit with them.
- Everyone is asked to sanitise hands on entering the building.
- We will ensure appropriate ventilation
- Boys should use the bathroom at home before coming to BB
- Anyone experiencing COVID symptoms is encouraged to not attend BB and consider taking a lateral flow test

Fees
Our annual fees remain at £30 per boy. This covers registration and insurance fees to BB National and Regional Headquarters. Please give fees to a leader in an envelope clearly marked with your child’s name and section.
Boys are not covered by BB insurance until fees are paid. We ask that fees are paid on or before 4 October.

Uniform

All boys should be in BB uniform by the beginning of October. Uniform can be ordered from the BB Shop in Belfast. Orders and payment can be taken over the phone and made ready for collection or posted out.
Uniform can also be purchased online: shop.boys-brigade.org.uk/
We are aware that it is difficult to get uniform hats for Juniors, Company and Seniors so don't panic if you can't get one.
To help with uniform costs, we would like to facilitate the exchange of second-hand uniform. If you have uniform which no longer fits please drop it in to us. We will lay out what uniform we have in the kitchen (just inside the bottom carpark doors on the left) during September for parents to see if there is anything they can use.
